The game of Monopoly was first introduced in 1934 by Charles B. Darrow of Germantown, PA, unemployed as many his fellow-Americans at the height of Depression. The game’s exciting promise of fame and fortune inspired him to start producing it on his own when Paker Brothers rejected his offer. Mr. Darrow sold 5,000 handmade sets of the game to a Philadelphia department store but as he could not cope with the demand he had to apply to Parker Brothers again.
The rest, as they say, is history! The MONOPOLY game became the best-selling game in America in 1935. Over its 65-year history, an estimated 500 million people have played it and now you have a chance to played the renewed version of this 20th century hit
